Miałem zaszczyt wziąć udział w uroczystych obchodach Święta Służba Ochrony Państwa w Rezydencji Prezydenta RP – Belweder, w wydarzeniu, które w sposób szczególny podkreśla znaczenie tej elitarnej formacji w systemie bezpieczeństwa Rzeczypospolitej. Obchody były nie tylko okazją do wyróżnienia zasłużonych funkcjonariuszy, ale także do przypomnienia o historii, tradycji i wyjątkowej misji SOP.

Służba Ochrony Państwa, jako spadkobierczyni Biura Ochrony Rządu, kontynuuje ponad stuletnią tradycję ochrony najważniejszych osób w państwie: Prezydenta RP, Premiera, członków Rady Ministrów, przedstawicieli parlamentu oraz zagranicznych delegacji. Formacja ta wyrosła z przedwojennych struktur ochronnych Rzeczypospolitej, przeszła próbę w czasie PRL, a po 1990 roku została gruntownie przeformowana, odpowiadając na nowe wymagania demokratycznego państwa prawa. Od 2018 roku funkcjonuje jako SOP, będąc nowoczesną i profesjonalną służbą specjalną podległą Ministrowi Spraw Wewnętrznych i Administracji.

Zadania Służby Ochrony Państwa obejmują nie tylko ochronę fizyczną osób i obiektów, ale również działania prewencyjne, kontrterrorystyczne i analityczne. SOP zabezpiecza wizyty krajowe i zagraniczne najważniejszych przedstawicieli państwa, współpracuje z pokrewnymi służbami ochronnymi na całym świecie, przygotowuje plany zabezpieczenia wydarzeń o znaczeniu strategicznym i realizuje zadania operacyjne wymagające najwyższego poziomu dyskrecji i profesjonalizmu.

Dzisiejsze zagrożenia, w tym wojna tuż za naszą wschodnią granicą, wymagają od formacji nieustannej adaptacji do zmieniających się warunków geopolitycznych i technologicznych. W swoim przemówieniu Komendant SOP, gen. bryg. Radosław Jaworski, trafnie zauważył, że „czas nie stoi w miejscu”, a nowa rzeczywistość wymusza zdecydowane reformy i inwestycje w ludzi, procedury oraz infrastrukturę.

Uroczystości w Belwederze były ważnym momentem dla całej wspólnoty funkcjonariuszy, tych obecnie pełniących służbę i tych, którzy przez dekady budowali fundamenty formacji. To również wyraz szacunku dla rodzin funkcjonariuszy, które wspierają ich w codziennych obowiązkach, często wymagających poświęcenia i nieustannej gotowości.

Z głębokim uznaniem i wdzięcznością dziękuję wszystkim funkcjonariuszom Służby Ochrony Państwa za ich służbę, poświęcenie i profesjonalizm. Święto SOP to ważne przypomnienie o tym, że bezpieczeństwo państwa zaczyna się od ludzi gotowych stawić czoła każdemu wyzwaniu z oddaniem, odwagą i honorem.

✅ I had the honor of taking part in the official celebration of the State Protection Service Day at the Belweder Palace 👉 an event that particularly highlights the importance of this elite formation within the national security system of the Republic of Poland. The ceremony was not only an opportunity to recognize distinguished officers but also a moment to reflect on the history, traditions, and unique mission of the SPS.

✅ The State Protection Service, as the successor to the Government Protection Bureau, continues a tradition spanning over a hundred years of safeguarding the highest-ranking officials of the state, including the President of the Republic of Poland, the Prime Minister, members of the Council of Ministers, parliamentary representatives, and foreign delegations. This formation has its roots in the pre-war protective structures of the Republic, endured the challenges of the communist era, and after 1990, underwent a thorough transformation to meet the demands of a democratic rule-of-law state. Since 2018, it has operated as the SPS 👉 a modern, professional special service under the authority of the Minister of the Interior and Administration.

✅ The duties of the State Protection Service go beyond physical protection of persons and facilities. They include preventive, counterterrorism, and analytical operations. SPS secures domestic and international visits of key state representatives, cooperates with counterpart protective services worldwide, develops security plans for strategically important events, and carries out operational tasks that require the highest level of discretion and professionalism.

✅ Today’s threats, including the war just beyond our eastern border, require the SPS to continuously adapt to shifting geopolitical and technological realities. In his speech, SPS Commander Brig. Gen. Radosław Jaworski aptly noted that „time doesn’t stand still”, and that the new reality demands bold reforms and investments in people, procedures, and infrastructure.

✅ The ceremony at the Belweder Palace was a significant moment for the entire community of officers, those currently serving and those who, over decades, laid the foundation of this formation. It was also a tribute to the families of officers, who support them in their daily duties, which often require sacrifice and constant readiness.
